No...I'm still here!

HELLO THERE!!! I know it has been a VERY long time since I've posted anything on my blog...and for that...I apologize. I've been keeping myself busy with family, friends, work, and sleep! Well, the sleep thing changes on a nightly basis like all you other moms know.

To update you on the last few weeks. First off, thanks be to the beautiful weather we have had...the kids and I have been spending more time outside. Love the sun...but the sun is far from being my friend. I was doing ok until last weekend when I went boating for the first time since the day I took my last nursing school exam. I did a considerable far less drinking this time...AND...I didn't take a step in the nasty MO River! Yikes...what was I thinking back then.

Anyway, the kids and I...ya...we have been spending more time outside. We blew up the swimming pool on Memorial day and Sophia had a great time. I'm convinced that my son is allergic to the water b/c every time...even for baths...we stick him in water...he flips out. I wonder why? It's not like we have shoved his head under water to acclimate him to it...seriously...that's mean! We went to the new Zorinsky Aquatics Center this week on Tuesday and Ian didn't stray to far from mom's side the whole time. I guess I enjoy it on a certain level b/c he is my last baby...and he has grown up far to fast.

In any case, we have been going on several play dates lately as well. My friend, Jamie, from work has given me relief during the day with the kids. It is nice to get Sophia out with other kids and Ian doesn't seem to mind either...unless he is being chased by an over eager little girl with brown curls. There was a little girl on the mad hunt for him the last time we were at the park. She couldn't stop rubbing his head, and I swear...I heard him curse her for doing so. Of course, all this was done in baby talk.

Speaking of talking, my little man has really started chattering away as of lately. He said dog at the park last weekend, and every time he gets upset he says something along the lines of, "LICKY, LICKY, LICKY, LICKY!" I know...I thought it was b/c he wanted a lick off his popsicle the other day, but he says it even when there were no iced treats around. He is getting so big and growing up WAY TO FAST for my liking. I know we as parents are almost required to say it. So cliche, but seriously...it seemed like time was snail crawling by with Ian until after his first birthday. Now he can run without falling flat on his face every time. He likes to be brave when he feels safe...sometimes that is a good thing...and sometimes not.

Anyway, I posted some pic's that I took last night to show you how big Ian is getting. Tonight we are on our way to see our good friend Becky get married in Hooper. I'm sure there will be pictures to follow...just don't hold your breath to long b/c well...I've been lazy lately! Hope this finds you all well!
