My sick little man...and big man...

Today I was reminded how much I HATE the winter months. My mom used to tell me that the reason that we get so sick in the winter is b/c I don't wear my hat in cold weather. Twelve years later, I learned the real truth through nurse's training. HELLO! I makes perfect sense. Mom's are so sneaky! I guess it would be an awful cold few months if the windows in the house were open all the time. I wish I would have known then what I know now. Well, maybe not b/c then my own daughter would probably use the same ammo I wish I could have used against me.

Anyway, I got a call from one of Ian's daycare teachers today. She told me that he had a fever of 102.4. I thought to myself...NOT AGAIN! Of course he happens to be sick in the middle of my two nights in a row at the hospital. In any case, my son has never been a super, super, super cuddly man...sure he likes to nuzzle and cuddle sometimes but not normally. I KNEW he wasn't feeling well when he cuddled in and didn't let go when I got his coat off when we got home. Poor kids was burn'in up! In any case, I was lucky enough to get the night off of work r/t low census, and in the morning I have to take the poor man into the doctor's office to get checked over. I really hope we are just fussing over nothing. He just can not shake this darn cold, and unfortunately it is finally kicking his little rear with a nasty fever. Not much can hold him back, but a fever sure does.

As for the big man in the house...his asthma is acting up thanks to Ian transferring a little virus/bacterial infection to Warren. I'm hoping the boys start feeling well soon, and that the ladies of the house can escape any trouble from this cold bug. I was really looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, but now...that might not be the case. Maybe if I "pre-medicate" myself with a bunch of ethanol tomorrow night at BUNCO...I might be able to burn the bug out of me...that is if I happened to catch any of the boys' cold.

In any case, I should really crash. The sun rises way to early in our house. Sophia I really looking forward to preschool in the morning. I know we have a good thing going when she tells me, "Why don't you just stay home, mom, and I'll go do my learning at big girl school." :-( My little lady is growing up so dang fast.
