Oh...what a lady!

I have to tell ya...my daughter is one surprise after another! Where does she get half of the stuff she says/thinks of!? Sometimes my natural response is, "WHAT?!"...AND then some times it is..."Oh my goodness! WHAT?!"

Today I kept my promise and took Sophia sledding out at a park off one of the bike trails I use to ride on a few summers back. This was her offical first time on a sled. My mom and dad bought her a sled two Christmas's ago, and, frankly last winter there seemed to hardly be enough snow to sled on...and this winter...LORDY, LORDY...it has been a cold one. In any case, today was a beautiful day to go sledding. Looking back on things...we should have probably dressed lighter, but I would rather be over prepared than under. In any case, like any kid, she tired quickly on walking up the hill. If she could have convinced me to pull her up the hill on the sled...we probably would have gone down a few more times. Little does she know...she didn't have to walk up the hill everytime. I could have pulled her up...but really...it helped to wear her out and sleep well tonight. Honestly, I can't hardly believe that I'm still awake.

We were the only ones there today, and that gave us the permission to be as silly as we could be. We built a snowman thanks to all the sticky snow from Friday on...and we spent ample enough time throwing snowballs at each other. What a GREAT TIME!!! I wish Warren and Ian could have been there with us, but, being out in the wide open snow, that is certainly not a good place for either one of those boys. What a great time we had!

Anyway, later tonight, I was taking some time to relax. Sophia wanted to watch Nick Jr. so I told her...I'll work on my computer if you sit quietly back in my room and watch whatever show you want. It was a quick deal. In any case, to make a long story short...Sophia couldn't handle me working on my computer. She has tried this before and succeeded once...thankfully not breaking anything. She told me, "I'm going to break your computer." with a ha, ha, ha...I'm so funny look on her face. I then said, "I'm going to break you if you break my computer." Of course, I said that all in fun...Ha, ha. Immediatly Sophia thrust her arm out and knocked my computer ALMOST off my lap. I shot her a look, and then she proceeded to say, "If you break my skeletons, you go to jail. You'll go to jail, mommy. You can't touch my brains or my skeletons."

At first I thought I heard her wrong, but then I asked in a joking voice, "What was that?" Joking right back and sticking her finger in my face she said, "You'll go to jail. Go to jail." Where exactly did that come from?! First off...never in my life would I ever break her bones, and second of all...if I'm ever going to break bones it's going to be on someone bigger than I. I asked her where she got what she was telling me and she was all like, "I dunno. I just know."

Dude...I know they say...kids are kids...but dude...I think my kid is smarter than she lets on sometimes. I'm not sure if she honestly has it all figured out...or if she is just plan lucky. It's gotta be the luck. In any case...I told Warren about the "skeletons" comment and he just laughed. Nope...not from daddy. I just have to shake my head and smile a bit...of course when Sophia isn't looking. Makes me wonder what Ian is going to be like when he can talk.
