Monday snow day...

Ok...well since we have either been scooping snow or cooped up inside all day long...I decided...today is the day for two blog posts. I always feel like I'm a day behind...so here is what the nasty snowy aftermath looks like. God love Nebraska winters!

Here is daddy after scooping the sidewalks. Always a good time...right, dad!?

Only my kids want to eat pudding pops when there are piles of snow outside and every where to be seen!

Sophia always shows us what is in her mouth!

This is Sophia and I's snow day hair styles. Later that day I actually turned on my flat iron and did my hair!

Ian vegging out in the living room

Yeah...looks like they are pooped out for the day!

Or maybe they need something else to do...do they look bored!?

Here are a few pictures of the snow on our tree and in our front yard. Enjoy!

Ladies and Gentlemen....

IT'S FRIDAY!!! WOOHOOOOO!!! There is something about Friday that always gets me super excited! Even if I have to work tonight...which I do...I still love the ring of TGIF!!! AUUHHHH YEAH!!! Maybe it's the realization that I don't have to watch one or both of the kids all day and night long by myself. During the week...Monday through Friday...I feel as though I'm the sole parent of three children. On the weekend...for some reason...it changes.

Anyway, enough of that...So...it's FRIDAY!!! This week has been a busy one for all.
This weekend we are expected to get a bit more of the ugly white stuff. I hate it when it snows...we have to scoop it...but I guess we need it so we aren't so dry in the spring/summer. This is the way it goes when you have four seasons!!!

Apart from the regular in's and out's of the week I made my first trip to Trader Joe's! In back in October of this last year, we had our first Trader open up at One Pacific Place. It was THE PLACE TO BE for almost the last two months. Even at 8 a.m. the place would be packed with people check'in it out and pick'in up what they needed. I thought, before this week of course, that it was another Whole Foods with super outrageous priced food that honestly tasted like arse!!! Don't get me wrong...if you can afford it...please go and shop at Whole Foods...but let me tell ya...I'll stick with the health food dept at Hy-Vee over Whole Foods.

In any case, I couldn't have been more wrong. One of the girls I work with at the hospital was telling me about these salmon patties and Alaskan cod that they sold at Trader's. OMG!!! I couldn't have been more wrong! Oh...I said that once didn't I? Yeah...well...I ended up with a very large bag full of food and I only spent just over $45 for one trip...AND the food actually tastes good!!! Dude...it was the bomb-digity!!! Don't get me wrong, the plain frozen yogurt I sampled was nasty, but the granola they threw in with it was AWESOME!!!

So...being the tard that I can be sometimes...I took some pic's for you all to show off my purchases.
Ok...so I had to pick up a few reusable bags while I was there. Along with my Vera Bradley addiction, Warren is convinced that I have an addiction to THESE type of bags as well. I had a mountain of them...but I still buy more! What can I say...I LOVE 'EM!!!
OK...so I had to buy one of the freezer bags b/c it is only the best one I've seen in ages! I'm so excited to use it this summer when we go to the zoo for lunch!
Here is my mother load of food! SO GOOD!!!Ok...so after taxes I spent $47 and some odd cents. It was worth every cent...and I'm sure I spent two times less what I would be spending at Whole Foods....don't get me wrong...I like the place...but it is PRICEY!!!

This weekend promises to be just as busy as the weekend has been. We have tickets to see "Elmo's Healthy Adventures" at the Qwest Center. I can't wait to see Ian's reaction to ELMO! He loves the dude!!! I thought Sophia loved the guy, but her's was a very subdued love for the dude! I'll post pictures tomorrow and let you know how it all went!!!

Well, I'll letcha all go now! Try and have a fabulous day! Try not to forget...IT'S FRIDAY!!!

DAY TWO!!! JANUARY 2ND!!! WOOHOO! :-)*

Hey all! So...I guess I'm two for two today. I know...it's late at night like my first post, but what can ya say for a night nurse of nine...almost ten years.

In any case, here we are...the second day of the new year. Yesterday we went and got something I've been waiting for...for a long time. Two years ago we got rid of our Wii. At the time it felt like a suckie decision, but Warren...in his way...talked me into getting rid of the Wii and then purchasing a used Xbox. Little did I know what an AWESOME idea that really was. It took a little getting use to, but it has been an awesome move on his part.

In the not so recent past, Microsoft came out with the Wii's competition...the Kinect. Everyone was doubting the greatness of the Kinect before it even hit the market, but Microsoft and went proved all those doubting Thomas people WRONG! Ok...so yesterday I talked Warren into getting a Kinect. SWEET, RIGHT!? YES!!! I never knew how really out of shape I was. After a couple rounds of Lady Gaga on Dance Central...I was sweating up a storm.

Later in the evening, Sophia and I put in the game that comes with the unit...Kinect Adventures. Yet another sweating buckets episode! It was great!!! Though, one downside, you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY need to be aware of where your partner in the game is. Without a controller every limb of your body could potentially be flying in all directions. Oh my...GOOD TIMES!!! I'll have to try and get a few pic's posted.

In any case, here are a few pictures from right after Christmas and last night as Ian sacked out with me. Sleep well all...or I guess I should say...have a fab day all.

My little sleeping baby!

Here are my two Christmas PJ Bums!!!

Apologies...again...

Ok...so I just realized...DUDE...it has been over a month since I last posted something here on my bloggy blogster.

Everyone always says...I'm going to exercise more, I'm going to loose weight, I'm going to walk more, etc...OH the dreaded New Year's resolutions. I know I'm going to bite my tongue about a week from now, but I have to do something that is going to be more attainable. I'm going to try...a very conservative effort...I am going to make some type of daily post on my blog for the next 365 days. I'm not sure what it's going to turn into...errr what, but I have to at least try, right?

So to catch everyone up to date...the last month has been a wild but fullfilling month. I have come to realize on several occassions how truely blessed I am to have the family, friends, and people I have...around me. All of them, in one form or another, would do some part of moving a mountain for me. They might not directly do it themselves, but in a round about way...it would happen. God is really very good.

We have been having a few financial issues...making ends meet...well...since we've had two kids in daycare, but the Lord has really pulled us through. I really try hard to count my blessings but sometimes I'm afraid that it all might fall through. I known what it's like to think that everything is going AWESOME, and then the bomb drops and blows ya straight outta the aqua.

Everything happens for a reason. It's terribly cliche but it's totally the truth. Warren really, really seems to be enjoying his job at the law firm downtown. I really, really, really, really hope that continues for him. He really deserves something great. I love hearing his stories from the office. Gosh...either the rest of the world is getting younger...or we are just getting older. LOL! It's funny how the next generation see's the world. I have to laugh b/c it sounds oh so familiar to me.

I remember growing up thinking I'd never make it to adulthood. It always seemed so stink'in far away. Now, I see myself doing many of the same things that my mom and dad did as young parents/adults. Sixty minutes and China Beach are the equivalent to my govermental documentaries from Netflix and House of today. It's crazy. I wonder what life will be like for my children as adults. Life has a way of repeating itself on one level or the next.

So, real quick, another update for you all...my college friend Beth and her husband are expecting their second child in March of this year. They were having troubles in the beginning with their pregnancy, but they have been doing well since getting up over that bumpy hill in the beginning. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts for them. I didn't post much after my last and only post, and I didn't want to leave anyone hanging.

Sophia, my beautiful 5 year old (going on 35), amazes me so much with each passing day. I know, as a parent, you are pretty much required to say that, but seriously...she is going to be a kindergardener in about nine months. Dude...what the hockey sticks!!! I remember her being my little peanut with the big smile. She still is, but is roughly standing about 4'2" these days...ummmm...at the stink'in age 5. For the love of Pete...she is practically taller than her mother and she hasn't even begun primary school. Dude...

Ian, my little big man, is beginning to talk up a storm as of late. It is so funny how much he wants to help out at times. He'll say, "I'll help." when it looks like someone needs help, or, "I don't want it." when it comes to feeding him something other than bananas, milk, cheese, or turkey hotdogs. Is it possible to grow up strong on a diet like that?! Oh my Ian. He is sucha little individual. He has his mind set on something and there is no changing his mind.

Anyway, I should try and close this up...but before I do...if anything I say over the next year gets annoying, repetative, or just plan stupid...please be a good friend, blog follower, whateva...and tell me. Who knows...I guess we just might have to see.

Happy New Year! Here's to 2011!!!

Here are the kids and I the day after Christmas 2010 at my dad and moms' house in Norfolk.
