Sophia swinging on the swings for the first
time this spring!

As most of you know, it has been such a LONG winter. Actually...not much longer than it normally is, but the piles of snow just seemed to drag the cold and freeze out as long as it possibly could go. Over Easter we drove up to Norfolk and spent the holiday with my mom, dad, and the rest of our family. My sister brought her boyfriend home for the first time. They have been dating since...I think...the end of September, and she was finally able to get him up to the great metropolis of Norfolk. Come to find out he has family that use to live up in Norfolk as well. What a small world we all live in. It was actually nice to have him there with Jenny b/c, with Seth and Margaret in Florida, my mom and dad's house seems small without them around to visit. I'm hoping that this summer we will get to see them. The kids are getting so big and they miss their aunt and uncle a bunch.
Since the weather has been so much more nice lately, we have spent more time outside and at the park. It is so interesting to watch Ian try and figure out the park and all the sights and sounds that come with it. LOL! We found out that he isn't much for grass or sand. I think the texture of it kinda freaks him out. Sophia didn't like grass much but she got over it pretty fast. While Ian has his messy days and doesn't mind a little dirt or mud on him, he is by far my little neat man. When he put his hands in the sand for the first time he flipped out and you could almost read the expression on his face as loud as the scream that went belting out across the playground. "MOM!!! WTF!!! What the h is all this gritty stuff?" He spent the rest of the evening at the park planted safely in my lap.
Reflecting back on last year, our days are by far much slower paced. Next week will mark the one year anniversary of my Grandpa Lange passing away. We all didn't expect either of my grandparents to live much past the first part of last year. Even though, when it all happened, it all seemed so surreal. I haven't lost a grandparent since my Grandma Johnson past away while I was in high school. It really makes you realize how fast time goes and how much we take advantage of sometimes. Warm thoughts go out to Grandpa and Grandma Lange in heaven. I know you are watching down on the kids and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for all your support. My world was so greatly enriched by knowing you for as long as I had. I, unlike most of my cousins, had 30 great years with you and will never forget the memories I have to share with my children. One of my most valued prayers when I graduated from college was to be able to give my grandparents a great-grandchild. Little did I know that I would be able to bless them with two. Thank you God for your grace and blessings.
Well, since it has been awhile since I've posted pictures of the kiddos, I figured I would post a few of the pictures I took at the park the other day. This of course was the day that Ian was introduced to SAND!!! Hope you enjoy them and I pray that this finds you all well!
